BRIGADIER GENERAL (AIR FORCE) KHAMPHATH PHIMMAHAXAY
Chief of Air Force Department of the Lao PDR People’s Army
B.G KHAMPHATH KPHIMMAHASAY was born on April 4th, 1953 in the northern part of Laos- the Xiengkhouang Province of the He has three children, a daughter and two sons.
B.G Khamphath PHIMMAHAXAY is the Chief of the Air Force Department of the Lao People’s Army, and he has been in this position since March 2012. He Joined the Air Force in 1972. He then studied at the Air Force College in Vietnam and became an An-24 and An-26 aircrafts engineer in 1974. From 1975 to 1977, he served at the Vientiane Air Force Base.
From 1978 to 1984, he acquired his Masters of Science at the Air Force University in Ukraine. Right after his graduation, in 1985, he was appointed as the Deputy Chief of No. 703 Air Brigade at the Vientiane Air Force Base. During his appointment, he took several training courses such as the Flying Engineer’s Course for the YAK-40 in Russia in 1986, Flying Engineer’s Course for An-72 in Ukraine in 1998, and the Flying Engineer Instructor’s Course for the An-74 in Ukraine in 2002.
B.G Khamphath also took some other academic courses, namely the Defence Strategic Studies in the National Defence Academy of Vietnam in 2008, Public Administrative Study at the National Organisation for the Studies of Politics and Administration in Vientiane, Lao PDR in 2011.
During his career, Colonel Khamphath PHIMMAHAXAY received 3 Labour Medals of Second Class, 4 Labour Medals of Third Class, and 3 Valor Medals of Third Class.
B.G Khamphath speaks Vietnamese, Russian and English. He enjoys reading, playing golf and gardening.
